What Happened

The Recent Converse Storm

On the evening of September 11, 2026, a severe thunderstorm produced large hail across Converse and surrounding parts of eastern Bexar County. The National Weather Service estimated hail of approximately 2 to 2.5 inches just southeast of Converse, with some reports of broken vehicle windows and windshields.

Nearby areas reported smaller hail, generally around 1 to 1.75 inches. Not every neighborhood or vehicle was affected, so the best way to know whether your vehicle has damage is a quick inspection.

After a Storm

What Drivers May Notice

Hail damage isn’t always obvious. A quick look in a parking lot can miss what a proper inspection reveals.

Subtle Dents

Small, shallow dents can be difficult to see at a glance, especially on lighter paint or in flat daylight.

Clearer Under Proper Lighting

Damage often becomes far more visible under the controlled inspection lighting we use in the shop.

Worth a Look Either Way

Not every vehicle in the area is affected. An inspection simply confirms whether yours has damage.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

No appointment is required. You’re welcome to stop by any time during business hours and we’ll take a look at your vehicle. If you’d like to be seen at a specific time that works for your schedule, you can also book an appointment online.

Hail damage varies quite a bit from one vehicle to the next, and it isn’t always easy to see on your own. Shallow dents can hide on certain paint colors or in flat daylight. Our inspections are done by trained technicians using proper lighting, so we can often identify damage you may not have noticed. If your vehicle turns out to be fine, we’ll tell you that too.

Repair time depends on several factors, including the severity and number of dents, the panels involved, and whether your repair is going through an insurance company. Because of that, timelines vary from vehicle to vehicle. Once you bring your vehicle in and we can see it in person, we’ll be able to give you a much more accurate estimate.

Hail damage is typically handled through comprehensive coverage, though the specifics always depend on your individual policy. National Dent works with all insurance providers and manages the claim from start to finish, so you don’t have to navigate it alone. If you’re not sure what your policy includes, give us a call at 210-646-1999 and we’ll be glad to help.

You can schedule online in just a couple of minutes, or call us at 210-646-1999 and we’ll find a time that works for you.
